Tips and Information to Make the Most of Your Time at Owl’s Roost Trail, Atlantic & Yadkin Greenway:
- Parking: available at the Wildlife Education Center
- Length of Loop: 5.4 miles
- Time to Complete Trail: About 1 hour and 52 minutes
- The Trail is recognized nationally as a premier mountain biking destination. It has been named by The Bicycling Magazine as the “best urban biking trail” in the nation.
- Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.

- Scenic views:
- There is a great view of Lake Brandt from the H. Michael Weaver Bridge.
- This is a popular trail for bird watching, hiking, and mountain
- JakJin Bistro Pho & More offers a variety of options including noodles, pho, sandwiches, vegetarian, and Vietnamese.
- Dine like a local: Save room for dessert and try the Fried Bananas which have gained notoriety on Jakjin’s Facebook page.
After lunch, head to Keeley Park, just a few minutes outside Greensboro.
- Enjoy some family time at the Up in the Air all-inclusive playground (designed to provide equal play opportunities).
- The playground also offers shaded benches for a break.
- Walk across the parking lot from the playground to cool off at the free sprayground (open from Memorial Day to Labor Day), where interactive water features shoot, splash, and spray you with water.

Day 2 Itinerary

The Greensboro Science Center is the only facility in North Carolina to feature a duly accredited aquarium, museum, and zoo all in one destination!
- While there, spend time outdoors in the zoo.
- Enjoy a bird’s eye view at SkyWild, the Science Center’s treetop ropes course adventure.
- Cool off inside and explore the SciQuarium and other museum exhibits.
- Finally, take a spin on the Rotary Club of Greensboro Carousel, where each panel shows a piece of the city’s history.
Bubble Bear offers bowls, poke, and a variety of speciality tea and smoothie options.
Country Park is adjacent to the Science Center.
- Enjoy a canopy walk through the trees.
- Fish at one of the park’s two fishing lakes (valid NC state fishing license required).
- Rent a pedal boat for a tour of the lake (seasonal).
- Enjoy an afternoon snack at Yum Yum Better Ice Cream and Hot Dogs, a Greensboro staple since 1906.

- Woven Works Park at Innovation Cornerstone – industry/textiles (northeast corner)

- You can also experience unique bicycle racks, benches, and other public art along the Greensboro Downtown Greenway.
- End your outdoor art tour at LeBauer and Center City Parks, both accessible from the Downtown Greenway.
- Located directly across the street from one another, look up at LeBauer Park and enjoy the “Where We Met” sculpture.
- Play in the interactive fountain at LeBauer Park (seasonal) and enjoy the children’s playground and outdoor games.
- Walk across Davie Street and enjoy the fountains and lawn space at Center City Park.
