Tournament Town

Welcome to Tournament Town

Welcome to Tournament Town—Greensboro, North Carolina—your premier youth and amateur sports destination. Named the Number 2 Best Sports Business City for Attracting and Hosting Events without a Big Five Team in March 2024 by Sports Business Journal, Greensboro is a powerhouse for hosting diverse sporting events from basketball, the origin of our Tournament Town nickname, to swimming, soccer, gymnastics, and more.

Home to world-class venues, including the Greensboro Complex, we've hosted everything from NCAA and ACC Basketball Tournaments to US Figure Skating Championships. The complex also includes the Greensboro Aquatic Center, the largest indoor facility of its kind in the US. It boasts four pools and hosts prestigious events like USA Swimming and Diving events, NCAA Championships, and AAU Junior Olympic Games.

For soccer enthusiasts, the Bryan Park Trusit Soccer Complex offers 21 fields. The Greensboro Sportsplex caters to sports from basketball to volleyball on its suspended hardwood floors and state-of-the-art fields.

Tennis lovers can enjoy the recently renovated Spencer Love Tennis Center, and track and field athletes can compete at the Marcus T. Johnson track at Truist Stadium on the Campus of NC A&T State University, one of the country’s premier facilities.

Let's not forget golf. Greensboro, home to the annual Wyndham Golf Championship, boasts several championship-caliber courses.

Greensboro is also home to one of the country's top minor-league baseball stadiums. First National Bank Field, home to the Greensboro Grasshoppers, hosted the ACC Baseball Championship and other events.

In November 2024, the Greensboro Area Convention & Visitors Bureau announced the purchase of 40 Pickleball Courts for the Greensboro Complex, giving Greensboro one of the largest portable indoor pickleball facilities in the US.
