For a century, Greensboro History Museum has been taking care of treasures like these to connect the next generation to our city’s diverse stories. Today, the Greensboro History Museum is an award-winning Smithsonian Affiliate with more than 17,000 square feet of exhibits.
In 2024-25 the Greensboro History Museum is commemorating 100 years of sharing Greensboro history with Gate City residents and visitors from all over the world. You’re invited to join us for special programs, community activities, new exhibitions, and more as we look forward to our next century.

Free parking is available in two adjacent lots:
- Off E. Lindsay Street, between the museum entrance and Mary Lynn Richardson Park
- Off N. Church Street, next to the veterans’ memorial
- Handicapped designated spots are available in both lots and in the bus pull-through in front of the museum entrance.
- Additional parking is available in the Church Street and Bellemeade Street parking decks, both about a 5 minute walk from the museum.
- Decks are free of charge on holidays and weekends.
- Free and metered on-street parking may also be available nearby on Summit Avenue and Church Street.
