Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated from September 15 to October 15, honors the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities. In Greensboro, several events will showcase a vibrant array of activities reflecting the city's diverse Latino population.

Noches Latinas will take place on October 4, 2024, at LeBauer Park from 6:30-10 p.m. Hosted by Casa Azul of Greensboro, this celebration will be filled with Latin music, dance, and cultural performances. It is a free, family-friendly event for the entire community to enjoy an authentic Latin experience. From salsa to cumbia, the night promises live music and plenty of opportunities to immerse yourself in Latino culture. They invite attendees to bring flags and wear clothing representing their countries.

The Hispanic Heritage 5K takes place on October 3 at 6:30 pm, organized by ¡Vamos! Run Club. This event starts at Fleet Feet at 3731 Lawndale Drive and offers participants a chance to celebrate Hispanic heritage while promoting health and wellness. Register for free.  

Día de los Muertos at CVA Gallery in the Greensboro Cultural Center starts November 1. This event brings the traditional Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead to life through art, music, and cultural displays. It’s free and open to the public, and Casa Azul is currently looking for artists to showcase their artwork. The deadline to submit is October 20.
